New York Times poll of business leaders puts Cambridge as globally ranked no 4 university

It’s the mission of the University of Cambridge to be globally excellent in research and education. On the whole we don’t take much notice of rankings, though it is obviously nice that Cambridge is usually at or near the top of academic rankings worldwide. It’s also interesting to see that the New York Times poll puts us fourth (after Harvard, Stanford and Yale) according to Chief Executives and Chairmen of leading companies in 10 countries.

Oxford came 8th, the London School of Economics came 40th and I couldn’t find the London Business School or INSEAD anywhere in the top 100.

I think it would be reasonable to add the executives’ breakdown per the University graduated. This would reflect a more fair picture of the ranking.
